how to make a scar with makeup-tom

STEP 1

1
Cleanse the skin where the cut will appear.
STEP 2

Trace the wound with black or brown eyeliner.

STEP 3

Add blood using bright red lipstick or fake blood. Trace the wound, covering and overlapping the traced area. Be sure to apply thickly. You could also use nail polish for this step.

STEP 4

Apply a layer of clear, shiny lip gloss to make the bleeding appear fresh.

STEP 5

Apply a little blush around the wound to make it appear sore.

STEP 6

Finished.

This is an easy way to do a very real looking scar/cut in face, arm, leg or anywhere that will look affective in our film. And because there is only one artistic person in our group this is something we will all be able to do to speed things along with preparation before the actual filming.

This is also a good way to bring our characters pasts to life to make the audience think .... Where did the scar come from? Why does he have this scar? How important is this person? These are all things that we will want to ask in our film and also to set up the rest of the film.

Isaac - Change in Plot

We've come to a conclusion to cut Tom's character as Phoebe's husband, due to it being a lot easier for Tom to be the antagonist instead of Matt. This is because Matt does not go to the college and it would be harder to get him at the right times whilst Tom is in our media group so he is available at all the same times.

Phoebe - 2nd Discussion

We decided to have another discussion on what props we intend to use in the Thriller. As well as finalising some ideas. Here is the video:

Phoebe - How to Create a Black Eye

One of our characters in our short Thriller film has been severely beaten up. This means he needs to have bruises and cuts across his body and face. I did some research and here is a makeup tutorial:

(I will also upload photographs of the character on the day of shooting onto this post)

Isaac - Scar

In our thriller opening we will be using a scar on Tom's face. To make this, we will need.
INGREDIENTS:
  1. Vaseline
  2. Tissue Paper
  3. Paint
  4. Glue

This is our result:

The reason we took the extra time to create the scar on Tom was to develop his character. This made him look as if he was more of a threat and a scary character in general.

Isaac - Rough Shot-List/Shooting script

  1. Phoebe walking down a busy road checking her constantly checking the time.
  2. Tom also walking down a busy road dressed in a suit with a suitcase.
  3. Phoebe checks the time one more time and increases her pace.
  4.  Tom at the edge of a field putting plastic shoe covers over his clean polished shoes and then starts his walk across the field.
  5. We now see Phoebe again and she is almost at a run as she enters a drive way
  6. Tom climbs through a window/door/entrance and puts down his suitcase. He then starts filling his nails.
  7. Tom lays down all his tools and measures out strips of tape.
  8. Phoebe now gets to the door.
  9. Tom opens up his suitcase and puts on latex gloves. He looks up to a clock/watch to check if Phoebe is late.
  10. Eye-line match of clock, loud ticking sound, we then hear Phoebe's knocking.
  11. Phoebe is knocking on the door extremely hard.
  12. We then see a Match on Action of Phoebe kicking down the door (The match on action will help us achieve the effect of Phoebe kicking down the door because she cannot actually kick it down) the first shot is of Phoebe starting to kick the door
  13. The second is a shot from inside the location (Old house) where the door swings open and we see Phoebe walk in.
  14. As Phoebe walks down the hallway we see a P.O.V shot of her. half way down the hallway a bag is put over phoebe's head so the shot is cut to black.
  15. Shot fades in and we see Phoebe strapped down to a chair.

Phoebe - Make Up ideas

In Video Production we had to film a zombie short film which involved me making my own 'zombie bite'. Since one of our characters is going to be severely injured and covered in cuts and bruises, I thought I could do the same kind of make up that I did for video production.

Here is an image of the 'zombie bite' I created:
